I’m catching up here on this cloudy fall day.  I should probably be folding laundry or changing out Reece’s closet for warmer clothes, but instead I’m admiring how beautiful it is in our neighborhood right now!My neighbor, Jackie, cracked me up the other day when she commented on how beautiful my trees are and her trees are just “STUPID!”  Sorry, Jackie, I’m not sure what is going on over there with your trees 😉

One thing is for sure, it wasn’t feeling like Fall at all when we got up at the crack of dawn for the All-City Cross Country meet with Jake late last month.  It was freezing cold and wet!Somehow, Jake just never ceases to amaze me.  He runs long distances like a beast.  And although he prefers a more ‘hilly’ course, he still managed to come in 4th place out of a ton of kids.

And he even had enough energy to make hot waffles afterwards!  I think he has a real knack for cooking, but he does tend to burn himself on the oven quite a bit.  We really need to work on that 😉Wow Jake, congratulations on an AWESOME cross country season.  You’re a natural!
