Moving up

Somehow we have reached this point…it’s nearing the end of summer and all mom’s are scrambling around to enroll at school, buy school clothes, and tackling the dreaded school supplies shopping.  I decided to break mine up a bit this year.  Since I now have kids in 3 different schools, I’m realizing life is a little more complicated and I should do the preparations in shifts to avoid losing my mind.IMG_8787.JPGJake will be joining the middle school community as a 6th grader in a few weeks.  He seems to be pretty excited and also a little nervous.  Don’t worry – this big sister will give him all the advice he needs and then some…8.2.17 Jake 6GR locker_PRT (1).JPGHe’s already starting off right because he got a top locker which is what all the kids desire.  Morgan walked him from class to class while I gave the locker combo a try.  I thought it would come right back to me but surprisingly it didn’t!  I failed!8.2.17 Jake 6GR locker_PRT (2)Jake had it figured out after only a few tries so I think we’re off to a great start!8.2.17 Jake 6GR locker_PRT (3)Jakers, I couldn’t be more excited for you (and also sad that you’re growing up).  I know you are going to love this change and I’m certain you’ll be successful!  Just give it a few weeks – it’s quite a change from your elementary school days.8.2.17 Jake 6GR locker_PRT (4).JPGAnd if this change isn’t enough, look at this young lady strolling into her new high school to check out a locker for the school year!

Morgan & Emma

The way it works at Olathe Northwest HS, the freshmen get the lockers that are left after the upperclassman have chosen theirs.  Morgan secured a locker next to her bestie, Emma, and they have 4 classes together which is a relief.  Morgan, you are going to rock this high school business, I know it!  And the best news is, you already have a 4.0 since you aced your summer PE class!

Wishing you both the best school year ever…Love, Mom
