I can’t even believe how excited this little 3rd grader was to invite us to his poetry picnic! We’ve learned over time that Drew is not super interested into tapping into the creative side of things. He’s definitely more left-brained. However, last week he was thrilled to have the opportunity to share his poems he had written and was inviting anyone he could grab a hold of. I’m surprised he didn’t invite the neighbors, his coaches, bus driver, mailman, the checkout clerk at Target…anyone!! Since his classroom can only hold so many, and it was a picnic lunch on the floor, we stuck to parents & Aunt Jenn. I really had to think back on what an Acrostic or Cinquain poem was and I’m still not sure I know! The only one that sounded remotely familiar was a Haiku.

Drew Boo, you did an AMAZING job on your poems and I’m so happy you are proud of your hard work. You are a poet and you didn’t even know it! 😉 “Jeffy the Frog” is Drew’s personal favorite. Enjoy!
